Biographies for Carol & Keith Klekota
Carol Klekota, LPCC

Carol is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in private practice with C.J. Hendry and Associates, Inc. in Westlake, Ohio.  She is also Co-founder and Administrative Director of Hopewood Retreat Ministries in Vermilion, Ohio.   Her passion is to help people achieve emotional and spiritual wellbeing through counseling and spiritual direction.

Carol is a 1977 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education.     After graduation and through the 1980’s, she held office administrative positions including managing Lakeland Eye Surgeons and Consultants for nearly 10 years.  In 1990, she sensed a call to make a career change in order to pursue training in Christian counseling.   She left her Office Management position and enrolled in the Southwest General Hospital branch of Ashland Seminary’s counseling program.  She completed her Masters Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary in 1993 and became a licensed professional counselor in 1996.   She has been a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors for the past 14 years.

Carol served in several management positions with Cornerstone Pregnancy Services from 1991 to 2000.  She also counseled clients who were not pregnant but desired help with a wide variety of issues including abuse recovery, infertility, relationship difficulties and pregnancy loss.  She has a special interest in anxiety disorders and offers help and healing to those struggling with trauma, grief and loss.

She attained her clinical counseling licensure in July of 2001, and has Supervising Counselor Endorsement by the State Counselor and Social Worker Board.  She has one Professional Counselor and one Counseling Intern that she currently supervises.

Carol’s emphases on emotional and spiritual wellness has led her to offer educational and inspirational classes integrating sound psychological and Biblical perspectives on a wide variety of topics over the years—including Depression, Anxiety, Burnout and Boundaries.   She has been speaking and leading groups on Boundaries since 1997 and believes this to be a critical need for women’s health today.
